Parents Committee Mission

The Westminster Parents Committee seeks avenues to build stronger connections among Westminster parents, to develop ongoing opportunities for parents to engage and collaborate meaningfully with the school, and to promote the school’s core values of Community, Character, Balance and Involvement.
Membership & Engagement

All parents are invited and encouraged to join the Parents Committee. Each year, about 120 families engage as Parents Committee members. Parents Committee meetings feature updates from faculty guest speakers about school priorities and happenings and are a great avenue to become informed advocates for Westminster School. These meetings take place three times per year — once on campus (fall term), and twice over Zoom (winter and spring terms).

In addition to our specific volunteer opportunities, Parents Committee members contribute to the life of the school in the following ways:

  • Attending Westminster games, performances, and events on campus and engaging with their children’s teams or afternoon programs.
  • Attending off campus receptions and gatherings whenever possible.
  • Staying informed by reading parent email newsletters and following Westminster on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
  • Being a positive advocate for the school and encouraging appropriate admissions candidates to consider Westminster.
  • Supporting the school and considering a gift to The Westminster Fund

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a wonderful way to engage more deeply with the school and connect with other parents. In addition to joining any of the following opportunities based on their interests, parents can also engage in special projects/brainstorming sessions that come up over the course of the year. There are a range of exciting ways to volunteer at Westminster:
